26th July. Skelton Castle.
Arranged with the owner by Sandra Hill, this is always an interesting sketching location in the fabulous grounds of the castle – please contact Sandra or CAS officers for time of meeting and directions.
Friend of the society, William Kidd and son of our famous historical Winifred Kidd, has invited us to come to his fabulous farmstead and gardens again near Staithes. We are usually able to use his farmhouse kitchen as our refreshment base. For those who haven’t been before, you will love what you see; and the rest of the membership will be surprised to see the transformation of the long barn into a superb art cafe visitor venue with the emergence of a surrounding sculpture park. This is truly a special place as William develops it for holiday makers and for us, the society, to take artistic advantage of. We still wish to arrange a summer date for a Saturday and Sunday sketching outing here, so please let an officer know of your preferred weekend asap.
Amsterdam or local gallery trips.
We are also looking into the possibility of an Amsterdam trip later in the year, and we’ll be ready to alert the membership to a regional or a national art gallery trip as soon as we begin to receive notification from members of something we should catch as a group. Watch out for an email or phone call!
Remember, it’s up to you to offer suggestions to CAS officers. We’ll put in place what we can!
